Concept - In a world where everything is decided by the government: your children's name, your children, your job, and your spouse will be assigned to you. The Government demands perfection and indifference. There is a boy named Jonas. He has a sister named Lily. Jonas wonders what is outside of the community. Jonas starts to have feelings, and the Government will not allow that. Lessons Learned (by character and reader) - Cameron learned that you have a free life and you can choose your destiny. - Sam learned that you can make your own decisions and not let anybody choose who you are. - Rowan learned that you can have feelings, and no one can stop that. - Jonas learned that there were other working societies other than his.
