2. God is Life

3. Heb 1 3 The Son is the radiance of God's glory & the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in Heaven. NIV

4. 1) God is the Giver of Life- Gen 2 7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, & breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; & man became a living being.

5. To understand God as He is, we must see Him as the giver of all life. That sets Him above all things on Earth and Heaven, a God worthy of reverence, worship & obedience.

6. Deut 30 19 I call heaven & earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life & death, blessing & cursing…

7. Deut 30 19 …therefore choose life, that both you & your descendants may live;

8. Deut 30 20 that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, & that you may cling to Him, for He is your life & the length of your days

9. If God is not the author of life, then He is an interferer with life, an outside force that is not naturally a part of our existence. Far from it though, He is what the world & every person in it was made through and for.

10. Acts 17 24 God, who made the world & everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven & earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands.

11. Acts 17 25 Nor is He worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, & all things.

12. Do I worship God as a giver of life or is He just someone who makes my life more difficult?

13. 2) Jesus brings God’s life to us- John 10 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, & will go in and out & find pasture.

14. 2) Jesus brings God’s life to us- John 10 10 The thief does not come except to steal, & to kill, & to destroy. I have come that they may have life, & that they may have it more abundantly.

15. 2) Jesus brings God’s life to us- John 10 11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.

16. With God, life is much more than our physical existence & happiness. As Jesus lives in us, our life becomes one & the same as our spiritual life, eternal life in, through & with God.

17. 1 John 5 11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, & this life is in His Son.

18. 1 John 5 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

19. 1 John 5 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, & that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

20. The world has chased immortality in science, drugs and spiritual pursuits. Yet God is not just interested in us physically living forever, His concern if for us to live with Him forever. Jesus is God’s door to that life, a life of Heaven, freedom, abundance and love.

21. John 11 25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection & the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives & believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?"

22. Is Jesus life to me? Am I experiencing life “more abundantly”?

23. God is Life
