What does Jesus think about money?

Matthew 6:19-21, 24 “Stop storing up treasures for yourselves on earth, where moths and rust destroy and thieves break in and steal.

Instead, store up treasures for yourselves in heaven, where moths and rust don't destroy and thieves don't break in and steal.

Your heart will be where your treasure is. No one can serve two masters. He will hate the first master and love the second, or

he will be devoted to the first and despise the second. You cannot serve God and wealth.”

Luke 12:16-21 “The land of a rich man yielded well, and he reasoned with himself, saying, “What shall I do, because I have nowhere to

gather my crops?” And he said, “I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will gather all my grain and

my goods. And I will say to my soul, 'Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, and be merry.'”

God said to him, “Fool! This night my agents require your soul from you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?”

So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich towards God.”

If we do what we think we will KEEP as much as we can.

If we do what Jesus thinks we will GIVE as much as we can.

Have you ever heard a NOT giving testimony?

What you give to the kingdom work of God is eternally recorded and rewarded.

Money has to be put in its place.

1 Timothy 6:7-10 “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for

money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.”

SOWING AND REAPING

1) What you keep is all you have.

2) What you sow God multiplies.

Luke 6:38 “Give and it will given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over will it be poured into your lap. For the measure you give will it be given to you.”

2 Corinthians 9:6-11 “The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each

one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is

able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

As it is written, ‘He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.’ He who supplies seed to the sower and

bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will

be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.”

1) Your heart matters when you give.

2) You cannot out give God.

3) People will thank God because of your generosity.

4) You will have an abundance for what you need.

How to change-

Give until you love it.

Believe that God is going to bless you spiritually and physically and financially.

Enjoy the joy and peace and fulfillment of obedience in this area.

Would you be willing to try something to build your faith as a disciple of Christ?
