Prepared with yogurt and spices, the name comes from the type of cylindrical clay oven, a tandoor, in which the dish is traditionally prepared. TANDOORI CHICKEN

Lassi is a popular, traditional, yogurt-based drink from Bangladesh, India and Pakistan. Lassi is a blend of yogurt, water, spices and sometimes, fruit. MANGO LASSI

Milk or yogurt may also be used to impart distinct tastes to the naan. Milk used instead of water will, as it does for ordinary bread, yield a softer dough. Typically, it will be served hot and brushed with “ghee”- hindi for butter. NAAN

The writing system is called devanagari. Each word is made up of a large consonant or vowel character and a small vowel symbol, usually a slash mark. The vowel * sounds like the a in again. This vowel occurs by default and does not need to be written. In Maatraa form, the vowel follows a consonant and is written in a slightly different form. THE HINDI ALPHABET
