Know which Detail codes are used to represent the three categories of financial data NSLDS requires that a student received while in a GE program Private Loans (P) FFEL or Direct Loans D) Institutional Financing and Payment Plans (I) Read the IFAP website for an expanded explanation of what is meant by Institutional Financing and Payment Plans. Assigning OPEID values based on campus codes and/or a default value OPEID’s must be transmitted in every record to NSLDS for this report. Since this release is intended not to be dependent upon having Banner Financial Aid installed, you will need to set up this information in the new form. A default OPEID rule can be defined. Examine the existing data in your tables that is needed to comply with the data submittal Credential Levels have been defined by the NSLDS and are not exactly the same as those used by IPEDS, which may require you to create additional degree codes on STVDEGC. NSLDS requires a CIP code for every program on STVMAJR. Students who do not have SSN’s or have incorrect SSN’s will not be picked up for reporting. Students in Medical or Dental Internship or Residency programs, (programs offered to individuals who have a medical or dental degree), you will need to assign a Student Attribute code to them effective from the term when the student enrolled in that program. 12 New Rules Forms SFAGECR – Gainful Employment Curriculum Rules - Determines by the Major, Level, Degree and/or Program whether a student is enrolled in a Gainful Employment Curriculum SFAGEDR – Gainful Employment Detail Code Rules - Defines what detail codes that mean the student received FFEL/Direct Loans, Private Loans or has outstanding Institutional Financing/Payment Plan obligations to the institution while the student was enrolled in a GE Program SFAGEOR – Gainful Employment OPEID Rules - Defines OPEID for each student in the Gainful Employment report September 17, 2012 © 2012 Ellucian. Report to gather all the student data and create a submittal file. The report will gather records for students who were enrolled in a Gainful Employment program, as defined by the rules in SFAGECR for an Award Year. The process will report the data fields required by the NSLDS User Guide and output the data into either a Comma Separated Variable file or Fixed Width file. September 17, 2012 © 2012 Ellucian. The report has 16 job submission parameters. Parameters 4-10: Defines the translation from Banner Degree Level to NSLDS Credential Levels for and can have multiple entries Parameter 11: Defines the student attribute(s) that mean the student was in a Medical or Dental Residency Program and also allows multiple entries Parameters 12-15: Population Selection Identifiers Parameter 16: Defines the OPEID or Third Party Code - Required when submitting files to the National Student Clearinghouse September 17, 2012 © 2012 Ellucian.
