Who was Tutankhamen? Tutankhamen became king when he was only 9 years old. Tutankhamen died suddenly when he was 19 years old. His tomb was discovered by a man called Howard Carter.tomb Ay one of his advisers/guardians became pharaoh straight after Tutankhamen died.pharaoh CAT scans in 2005 revealed that the king was about 5 foot,8 inches tall.

A mummy is the body of a person that has been preserved after death. After Tutankhamen died he was mummified and placed in a sarcophagus. It took a very long time to mummify someone body from start to finish. To have someone mummify you would cost you a lot of money. What were hieroglyphics used for? There were no vowels in Egyptian Hieroglyphs only consonants, so ‘Egyptians are Cool’ without vowels would be ‘Gyptns r Cl’ !!! The Egyptians used hieroglyphics to write with. Hieroglyphics were a form of pictures and symbols. Egyptian hieroglyphs could be written in both directions - right to left or left to right. Sometimes scribes used a faster short form of hieroglyphics on papyrus called hieratic.
