First month in program is considered a “learning” process and rent and utilities are automatically deducting from the youth’s check. All youth receive a bi-monthly check, available on the 1st and 3 rd Tuesday of each month. Youth receive approximately $460.00 on the 1 st Tuesday. From this check youth are expected to pay their rent ($250). On the 3rd Tuesday of the month youth receive approximately $330.00. With this check youth pay their PG&E, phone bill, and the bulk of their monthly expenses. Each month youth are required to create a monthly budget.

4 One Approach to Rent in THP+FC: BAYC Being in debt with BAYC due to non-payment of rent or utilities results in money being automatically deducted from youth’s future stipend checks until they have paid off debt.
