The Glory of God

Romans 3:21-26 21 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 21 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

“ …whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood…” Propitiation - an atoning sacrifice… for Atonement! At-one-ment.

God is glorious! What makes God glorious?

God is glorious! He is called “the King of Glory!” (Psalm 24) He is called “the Father of Glory!” (Ephesians 1:17)

Psalm 96:7-9 7 Give to the L ORD, O families of the peoples, Give to the L ORD glory and strength. 8 Give to the L ORD the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come into His courts. 9 Oh, worship the L ORD in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth.

2 Corinthians 4:3-6 3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. 5 For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

6 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

God is glorious because He is El-Shaddai – God Almighty!

God is glorious because God is love!

God is glorious because God is light, and in His light we see light!

God is glorious because God is the source of all life – in Him we live, move and have our very being!

God is glorious because the heavens and the earth declare His glory!

Psalm 19:1 1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork. 2 Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. 3 There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard.

God is glorious because He is holy and righteous!

God is glorious because He is just!

God is glorious because as Romans 3:26 states: “He is both just and the justifier.”

How do we give glory to God?

Romans 3:23 gives us a huge clue: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

God has a glory which He intends and purposes for each one of us!

What God has done for us in Jesus the Christ is to restore the opportunity to us to live lives that bring Him glory!

Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

1 Corinthians 10:31 31 Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Revelation 4:1-11

Revelation 5:8-15

Psalm 15 (the whole chapter) Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, But to Your name give glory, Because of Your mercy, Because of Your truth.
