Natural Killer Cells Thought to recognize and destroy tumor cells and some virally-infected cells through a self/non-self recognition process.
2
– Exact physiological roles are unclear; they may be able to recognize and destroy cancer cells and cells infected with certain kinds of viruses. – NK cells make up 10-15% of the circulating lymphocytes in the adult Natural killer cells result from differentiation of the lymphoblast in the lineage tree
3
Critical thinking Would natural killer cells be considered a part of nonspecific or specific immunity? Do a web search (and I-search) Come to a decision as a group and provide evidence for your conclusion.
