3 Features The Orca whale is the biggest dolphin, it belongs to the dolphin family. They have 40-50 teeth in their body.Their teeth grow to about 7.6 cm.They can weight 3.600-5.400 and grow 8-10m long.Orcas have a spot located behind their dorsal fin.Their dorsal fin and their stream lined bone structure helps it swim fast.

4 Orcas hunt in pods, a group of Orcas could easily take down a shark.If a Orca gets hurt the others will protect that Orca.

5 Orcas can dive 30m into the water,and they can reach speeds up to 48km per hour.Orcas swim in colonies,Orcas will have six - forty eight Orcas in a pod.

6 Orcas are carnivores and they eat 551 pounds a day. Orcas eat zooplankton, plankton,sharks, Blue whales, seals, squid and penguins.

7 Orcas sometimes appear around NZ waters. Orcas go to the polar regions in summer and go to the Pacific ocean in winter. Orcas are also found in tropical waters.Some orcas even live in marine places.

8 Male Orcas have a different dorsal fin to the female,the Orca males diet is different to the female to. The males would have bigger fish.

9 Killer whales stay in pods to survive, from sharks and leopard seals. Tail-fins are a use of Protection.The Orca Uses it tailfin to whack.

10 The Orcas babies first feature is to go to the surface and take a breath. The babies mother feeds it milk.
