In 1957, a beekeeper in São Paulo, Brazil, accidentally released 26 Tanzanian queen bees. These bees cause an agricultural catastrophe. It was an incredible level of melissophobia. These Queens mated with the native european honeybees, and this created the killer bees or also called the Africanized bees. They became an aextremley aggresive specie.
7
These Africanized honey bees swarms have invaded European honey hives in which they kill the queen and install their own leader. These bees first infiltrated into the United States in 1990 and spreaded out to the southern parts of California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Luisiana, Arkansas, and Florida.
8
These bees sting more then one time. There have been cases of individuals recieving more tan 1,000 stings.
9
Besides being a threat to humans and kicking the native bees out, they are very bad at producing honey which makes them a threat to agricuture.
10
Facts The anual cost in the United States for invasive species is about 120 billion dollars. It is estimated that the global cost of invasive species management is the same to five percent of the global economy.
