How do YOU think Fred Bear found archery?
11
Finding Archery Fred moved to Detroit, Michigan when he turned 21 Saw the silent movie “Alaskan Adventures” About bow hunter Art Young’s quests Fred fell in love with archery and learned all he could from Art Young Fred tested many materials to create the best bow and arrow
12
Fred over “canted” the bow! He did not hold it up and down. Fred was a “snap shot” hunter. He did not take long to aim and he shot the bow like a sling shot! Fred was right eye dominant and right handed but shot his bow left handed!! When Fred would teach others he would say, “Don’t learn to shoot like me.” BUT WHY???? So, do you want to shoot like Fred Bear?
13
What is the “best” way to learn archery? Step 1 Determine eye dominance!! Step 2 Determine “Bow Hand” Step 3 Learn from an expert! Step 4 Practice

“Go afield with a good attitude, with respect for the wildlife you hunt and for the forest and fields in which you walk. Immerse yourself in the outdoor experience. It will cleanse your soul and make you a better person.” –Fred Bear
