FLT- for syllabus I can identify necessary materials for class and give examples of how respect will be shown after discussing our syllabus as well as understand proper lab safety after reading through the Flinn Safety Contract.

Quiz Corrections First, Introduce yourself to a new person Second, trade papers with them Third, if they miss one ONLY put a line through the number Lastly, put the number correct out of the number possible and give it back to them If you missed one take a minute to correct it.

FLT- safety I can demonstrate proper lab safety after reading through the Flinn Safety Contract. I will demonstrate their big boy and big girl voice as well as being a good listener while my classmates introduce themselves

Turn in any documents you haven’t turned in yet Think back to a word you defined on Friday. Tell someone next to you what is was and what it means.

Create a Bumper Sticker Look through the book and find something interesting to you Create a drawing or redraw an image to put on a bumper sticker You can add captions or use a creative saying. Use color pencils/crayons/pens

Trade your bumper sticker with someone around you Make sure their name is on the sticker somewhere Write a positive comment on the back of their sticker Get out a piece of paper and a write utensil

What is Anatomy? In Greek: –ana = apart –tomy = to cut Anatomy –The study of the STRUCTURE and shape of the body and body parts, and their relationships to one another

What is Physiology? In Greek: –physio = nature –ology = to study Physiology –The study of how the body and its parts work or FUNCTION

Body Systems For every body system, we will always learn both –ANATOMY (STRUCTURE) How its built, what it looks like –PHYSIOLOGY (FUNCTION) How it works, what it does

Body Systems Cards and Notes To get an understanding of the human body and systems that make it up we will be using a series of cards to create a table with that will eventually include your notes for this section You will use a System Card, an Anatomy card, and a Physiology card for each body system Then complete the Notes Chart

Introduction to Body Systems: Group Presentations In your assigned group, you will: –Prepare a presentation on your assigned body system that will include An oral presentation of assigned information A labeled visual aid (drawing)
