5 Learning Target 1. Enlightenment Ideas These ideas make people want to change, these include: Freedom, logic, progress, hope, and tolerance (i.e. The ideas of John Locke changed the way people thought about their natural rights) The Main Ideas/Notes section will be made up of the body of information that will be used to complete the daily Learning Target. This section should be divided into Main ideas on the left margin and the notes on the right. An example is given. 10 Unit 5Lesson 1 6 Causes of Revolution 5. Religious Intolerance When people are unable to worship freely Religious groups are often outlawed or treated unfairly (i.e. the Puritans of England fled to the Americas for religious freedom)

11 Unit 5Lesson 1 6 Causes of Revolution 6. Nationalism A pride, or loyalty, given to your own people or nation Nationalism results in a nation desiring to be the best and independent of other nations (i.e. The American colonist revolting against the English King for independence)
