1 Today you’ll need your novel, journal, and a writing utensil. Entry Task 3/25 Without referring back to the novel, what information was presented in the testimonies in chapters 17, 18 and 19?

2 During group discussion time.. I will send table groups to the back wall to look at what other groups wrote yesterday, and the score I gave each one. Try to determine what the main difference is between a 2 and a 3 and a 4-, 3+ and a 3. When you return to your seat, write out a statement about what the main difference in commentary is between a 3 and a 4.

3 Trial Testimony – be prepared to share with class Review the trial testimony from chapters 17, 18 and 19 with your group. Discuss the evidence provided in the testimonies. Analyze the voice and make inferences about the jury response. Discuss the logical and illogical claims made in the testimonies. Discuss the credibility/reliability of the testimonies. What is the difference in the reliability of the testimonies during the 1930s versus today?

4 Read chapters 20-21 Track the rhetorical appeals in Atticus’ closing argument (either in your journal or using the graphic organizer on page 236). HW
