Objective: Students will compare and contrast the population pyramids and answer the questions.
Assign students to small groups of 3 or 4.
Give each group a copy of each population pyramid and and a copy of the questions.
Students will complete the questions.
Discuss how literacy rate, income level, etc. affect the population of a country.

What could cause a wide base on the graph?
What issues could cause the differences in the populations of the two countries?
What other data would be helpful to further compare these two countries?

For Denmark, do you see any changes over time between females and males? What do you think accounts for the difference
