C63.19 Round Robin Test Plan (by Jim Turner; further editing by Steve Julstrom – 11/20/2009)
2
Round Robin Test Goals Verify the new 2009 version reflects the same ratings for GSM as the 2007 version (+2.2 dB extra margin). Verify various test labs get the same results when testing the same device. (within margin of error) Verify the fast probe and slow probe methods are comparable.
3
Testing Details – A Fast Probe (2007 version) - OPTIONAL 1.Each lab will test the devices they support using the 2007 version of C63.19. 2.All test results will be reported to the test coordinator using a standard reporting spreadsheet to include: probe calibration, frequency band, WD operating mode parameters Peak field, 20 kHz bandwidth (dB(V/m), dB(A/m)) 2007 rating (including measurement, in dB(V/m), dB(A/m)) 3.The expected results are the same ratings for: 2007 version using slow probe GSM: 2009 version using fast or slow probe (-2.2 dB extra margin) Different labs
4
Testing Details – A Slow Probe (2007 version) 1.Each lab will test the devices they support using the 2007 version of C63.19. 2.All test results will be reported to the test coordinator using a standard reporting spreadsheet to include: probe calibration, frequency band, WD operating mode parameters probe modulation factor applied (dB) and method of determination average field strength (dB(V/m), dB(A/m)) 2007 rating (including peak field strength, in dB(V/m), dB(A/m)) 3.The expected results are the same ratings for: 2007 version using fast probe GSM: 2009 version using fast or slow probe (-2.2 dB extra margin) Different labs

Testing Details – A Fast Probe (2009 version) 1.Each lab will test the devices they support using the 2009 Revision draft 1.13 version of C63.19. 2.All test results will be reported to the test coordinator using a standard reporting spreadsheet to include: probe calibration, frequency band, WD operating mode parameters RF Audio Interference Level (dB(V/m), dB(A/m)) 2009 rating (including measurement, in dB(V/m), dB(A/m)) 3.The expected results are the same ratings for: Draft 1.13 version using slow probe GSM: 2009 version using fast or slow probe (+2.2 dB extra margin) Different labs

Testing Details – A Slow Probe (2009 version) 1.Each lab will test the devices they support using the 2009 Revision draft 1.13 version of C63.19. 2.All test results will be reported to the test coordinator using a standard reporting spreadsheet to include: probe calibration, frequency band, WD operating mode parameters measured MIF (dB) Slow probe measurement (dB(V/m), dB(A/m)) 2009 rating (including calculated RF Audio Interference Level, in dB(V/m), dB(A/m)) 3.The expected results are the same ratings for: Draft 1.13 version using fast probe GSM: 2009 version using fast or slow probe (+2.2 dB extra margin) Different labs
7
Expected MIF Values GSM +3.8dB (w/apparent pulse skipping, etc.) WCDMA -20dB CDMA Full Rate -19.2dB CDMA 1/8 Rate +3.4 iDEN - ?? Note: MIF developed from the Motorola contribution
8
Most Interfering Mode GSM – Full rate, Full Power WCDMA - ?? CDMA - ?? iDEN - ??
