Tertiary beams at H8 (North Area) Electrons: – use an electron beam as secondary beam – thin Pb target for low energy electron production – pure low-energy electron beam at the experiment Pions: – secondary high-energy beam 80 GeV;,,p mixture – target: Be, Carbon,... – mixed beam to the experiment ( and from pion decay) Muons: – same as for pions, secondary high-energy beam 80 GeV;,,p mixture – target: Be, Carbon,... – tune low-energy beam magnets to select only muons Link to Marlene Turner slides: https://indico.cern.ch/getFile.py/access?contribId=129&sessionId=13&resId=0& materialId=slides&confId=209429

Summary Work by WP8.2.1 well under way. Need more information on: – Fluxes per spill; – Beam composition; – Size and position of beam; – Whether size/position of beam can be modified. Planned meeting with Ilias Efthymiopoulos and Marlene Turner in coming weeks.
