I went to Monticello. Monticello is a house that Thomas Jefferson built. Thomas Jefferson was the third President of the United States.
3
I took a tour of the house. It was built in the 1770’s. I also went outside on Thomas Jefferson’s land. There was a really big tree trunk.
4
I learned about Thomas Jefferson’s inventions. He built a special clock that told the time and the day of the week. He didn’t have room for Saturday so he had to put it in the basement.
5
I got to try a lot of Thomas Jefferson’s gadgets. I wrote with a polygraph. It has two pens and makes a copy of whatever you write.
6
This is me in the kitchen. It is outside, underground.
7
This is the ice house. They kept snow and ice in a huge hole in the ground.
8
This is me and my brother with Thomas Jefferson’s statue.
9
The kids played chess back then. My dad taught me to play chess on the trip.
10
I tried to make a new building like Monticello on the computer.
11
It was a fun trip. Since Thomas Jefferson was an inventor, I made two inventions: a motor and a telegraph.
