2.  I went to Monticello.  Monticello is a house that Thomas Jefferson built. Thomas Jefferson was the third President of the United States.

3.  I took a tour of the house.  It was built in the 1770’s.  I also went outside on Thomas Jefferson’s land. There was a really big tree trunk.

4.  I learned about Thomas Jefferson’s inventions.  He built a special clock that told the time and the day of the week. He didn’t have room for Saturday so he had to put it in the basement.

5.  I got to try a lot of Thomas Jefferson’s gadgets.  I wrote with a polygraph. It has two pens and makes a copy of whatever you write.

6.  This is me in the kitchen. It is outside, underground.

7.  This is the ice house. They kept snow and ice in a huge hole in the ground.

8.  This is me and my brother with Thomas Jefferson’s statue.

9.  The kids played chess back then. My dad taught me to play chess on the trip.

10.  I tried to make a new building like Monticello on the computer.

11.  It was a fun trip.  Since Thomas Jefferson was an inventor, I made two inventions: a motor and a telegraph.
