3 Government Round Table Countries have different experiences with National Platforms Countries are committed to strengthen national coordination mechanisms/NPs in a systematic manner Political commitment is the ingredient which provides space and resources for DRR within development Sharing of experiences and peer support is important UNISDR is requested to provide technical support

4 Stakeholder Group Round Table HFA2 provides a break through opportunity for voluntary commitments. To translate this opportunity into action SHGs will work on 6AMCDRR commitments to make them more specific, measurable to support HFA2 implementation (by 31 st Dec) Establish win-win partnerships: between SHGs, with other groups (SDGs, CC), linkage between regional and global processes SHGs constitute valuable partners to national governments and regional IGO. Need greater clarity on SHG relationship with governments: NP?, Linking SHG commitments with HFA2 monitoring?, Mutual accountability Improve forms of engagement: IAP website, IAP, AMCDRR processes, annual meeting, joint research UNISDR AP as coordinating body Next step: to develop engagement strategy between SHG and governments with minimum TOR

5 Fulfilling 6 th AMCDRR commitments Governments commit to and are taking different actions to implement Bangkok Declaration SHGs makes differential progress against their commitments SHGs also identified challenges and the ways forward

6 Discussion: Government SHG partnership Recognition of the role of SHGs Standards and guidance for SHGs to define their engagement SHG role in HFA2 monitoring, linking SHG commitments with HFA2 monitoring Enhanced role of private sectors Market creation for higher education

7 10 year Tsunami Commemoration Thailand: national remembrance activities UNISDR in collaboration with MOFA of Thailand: Panel discussion chaired by SRSG Indonesia: series of activities from 24 th November to 26 th December

8 Road to Sendai Collaborative event and participation to raise awareness of common people [specially targeting to the young people] about the importance of WCDR and its follow up activities. Direct events, virtual event, messages, social media etc.
