Defining a role for Nottingham in the Green Deal – progress so far 2011-12: secondee from University of Nottingham looking at the role of Local Authorities in Green Deal Aug 2012: Bid for DECC funding through Core Cities to trial elements of the Green Deal Match funding with ECO money to support installation of external solid wall insulation on Bulwell Hall estate Trialling green deal style assessments and installation on Aspley estate Workshops for the Non Domestic Sector (GreenTech Network and Nottingham Carbon Club) October 2012: set up Green Deal Project Board to guide delivery of DECC funding to develop Nottingham City Council’s position as a Green Deal partner

Objective: Work with energy suppliers to maximise the amount of Green Deal ECO funding attracted to and invested in Nottingham, to reduce energy consumption and maximise carbon savings across all tenures Proposal: To roll out an approx £130m green investment programme, focusing on Nottingham’s hardest to treat neighbourhoods Nottingham Energy Saving Neighbourhoods: An area-based approach to the Green Deal

Work in partnership with Nottingham City Homes (Managing agent for social housing) Procure a managing agent for private sector housing Use Efficiency East Midlands Frameworks to procure ECO finance, Green Deal providers, installers and suppliers Work across entire neighbourhoods with similar property types in both private and social tenures Create momentum through ECO insulation work to all hard to treat council homes, acting as a catalyst for take up of Green Deal Measures in the private sector Nottingham Energy Saving Neighbourhoods: How will it work?
