Courses adverts are public information? Nationally held course advertising information, key data about courses and information used for choice, arguably should be available as XCRI/appropriate open data 1 1.Complete, Primary, Timely, Accessible, Machine processable, Non-discriminatory, Non-proprietary, Licence-free Open Government Data principles (Berners-Lee, Malamud 2007)

Why? Course advertising information can be connected with other types of data to provide richer contextual information for learners and potential learners Open and standardised course data means that more services can use and re-use course advertising information in a range of different, exciting and previously unimagined ways Course advertising information will cascade to wider groups and new markets
