1. THE DAY OF DIFFERENCE ! By: Erica Tadesse

4. It was a warm and sunny day on August 24, 2013 in New Castle, PA. There were three children that all went to school together, and they were best friends.

6. Bam! Dominique,Tre and Aleigha were walking down the hall and saw Honey Bun Glaze getting bullied. Honey Bun Glaze was always bullied by the Castle Hawk basketball team.

8. The Castle Hawk basketball team didn’t know that Honey Bun Glaze had the coolest friends in the school. They were Dominique, Tre and Aleigha. So his friends went to the principal and teachers and told them that the bullying had to stop before it got out of control.

10. There was a problem. The boys were on the school’s basketball team, and the team had won the state tournament. The principal and teachers thought, “Those boys ran so fast. They could outrun a cheetah.” The principal and the teachers wouldn’t do a thing because they were the best of the best on the team.

12. One day Aleigha, Dominique and Tre were walking down the halls, and they saw Honey Bun Glaze getting bullied. They decided to take matters into their own hands. All the friends told Honey Bun Glaze, “Go to class, and we will take care of this.”

14. So, Aleigha, Dominique and Courtney went up to the basketball players, “Hey! You do know that Honey Bun Glaze has a disability, right?” The boys responded, “We don’t care. What do you think you are going to do about it?” The team started laughing. HA! HA! HA!

16. Then, Dominique and Tre both said at the same time, “What do you think you’re accomplishing by making fun of someone with a disability. You’re a team, and you’re the best of the best in the school. You call yourselves role models?”

18. So while they were all in the hallway, Dominique, Tre and Aleigha all showed the Castle Hawk basketball team how it felt to be bullied and how Honey Bun Glaze felt. The team finally understood and knew how it felt to be bullied.

19. Dear Honey Bun Glaze,

20. The basketball players realized how it felt to be bullied, and they wrote a letter of apology to Honey Bun Glaze. Also, the basketball team started an event in school called the Honey Bun Glaze Ball.

22. The Castle Hawk basketball team now plays games with disabled students, and the team started a bully-free team. “Just because you are different doesn’t mean that you’re not somebody, because in my eyes everybody is somebody.” THE END !
