www.karvakko.com Process Splash Pad Warming/Changing House Skate Park Outdoor Fire Place Small Public Ice Rink Other Suggestions? We will discuss after and please fill out the Public Survey! Step 1: List of priorities * This is only our preliminary order. We are here today to finalize the order and to add any additional suggestions to the list.

www.karvakko.com Schematic Layout Pros: This layout groups the summer activities and winter activities to similar locations. It allows the existing structures to be salvaged and would likely save money. Cons: The skate park and ice skating rink would not be very visible from Center Street. Option #1

www.karvakko.com Schematic Layout Pros: The splash pad and ice skate rink will be easily visible from the street. The warming/changing shelter can be used in summer and winter. The skate park is easily accessible next to the new parking and somewhat separated from the new splash pad. Cons: The warming shelter is not close to the sledding area. Option #2

www.karvakko.com Schematic Layout Pros: This layout groups the ice skating rink and splash pad areas, which may tend to be more family-type groups and it groups the skate park and basketball court, which may tend to be more teenager-type groups. Cons: The splash pad becomes almost a secondary feature in the park with the ice skating rink so close to the road. There is minimal buffer between the ice rink and the street. This leaves minimal open, recreational space. Option #3

www.karvakko.com Schematic Layout Pros: The picnic shelter is located in a central location which will allow it to be used by people using any of the surrounding amenities. The ice rink is located somewhat close to the sledding area and the warming shelter is accessible by both. Cons: Not much open space for general recreation. Option #4

www.karvakko.com Schematic Layout We analyzed the options… Weighed pros and cons… and refined a single schematic layout.

www.karvakko.com Schematic Layout Pros: This layout allow a nice open green space for recreation in the front of the park, but still will have a nice open visibility to the splash pad. The layout will allow the existing pump house and picnic shelter to be salvaged until now ones can be phased into the overall park. The skate park will be easily accessible from the new parking area. The outdoor fireplace is located where a fire can be going near the ice skate rink in the winter to warm up. The picnic shelter and changing house are centrally located to accommodate all of the amenities in the park. The basketball court will remain in the same location. The park sign will be easily visible from the street and parking lot. The ice skate rink and warming shelter are located close to the sledding hill. This layout groups the teenage-group activities together and the family-group activities together. It allows the different groups to have their own spaces. Cons: None! Final Option
