Definitions
Qualified Rigger
a “Qualified Rigger” is a rigger who meets the criteria for a “Qualified Person”
Qualified Person
means a person who, by possession of a recognized degree, certificate, or professional standing, or who by extensive knowledge, training and experience, successfully demonstrated the ability to solve/resolve problems relating to the subject matter, the work, or the project.

Effective Date: November 8, 2010
1419 States that a signal person must be provided in each of the following situations:
The point of operation, meaning the load travel or the area near or at load placement, is not in full view of the operator.
When the equipment is traveling, the view in the direction of travel is obstructed.
Due to site specific safety concerns, either the operator or the person handling the load determines that it is necessary.
