12 New & Transferred Employee Safety OrientationPage 12 HAZCOM STANDARD FEDERAL AND STATE LAW You have a right to know about the hazards in your workplace Applies to all District employees who may be exposed to hazardous substances. OEHS evaluates and approves all chemical products to be used in the District. You can obtain material safety data sheets (MSDS) on-line from OEHS website. Don’t bring household cleaning materials to schools. Request hazardous waste disposal from OEHS.

13 New & Transferred Employee Safety OrientationPage 13 Asbestos and Lead General Rule: Do not disturb any painted surfaces or any building material in the schools unless you are trained to do so. It could be lead or asbestos containing material. When in doubt call ATU (Asbestos Technical Unit) at 213-745-1450 or look at your Asbestos Management Plan.
