The site datum will be set in relation to an Ordnance Survey Bench Mark (OSBM).

The main part of the substructure is the foundation. ●The entire area must be surveyed to select the correct type of foundation. ●The wrong type could lead to the building collapsing.

It is decked by wooden material. Air bricks are fitted beneath to prevent timber rot. ●Solid concrete floor – very durable, with its depth set by the Building Regulations. ●Floating floor – timber construction on a concrete floor with decking on timbers. ●When might these floor types be used?
