2 Objectives Comparison of experimental data on the sites with full rotational cycles or 4 years continuous crop 1. Evaluate NEE and compare with exported (and imported) carbon (  NBP)  On a full rotation, are crops a source or a sink of carbon ? CarboEurope-IP Meeting – 8-11 October 2007

3 Objectives 2. Infer GPP and TER What is the relationship between GPP and TER? Is it dependent on NPP? What is the relationship between GPP and NPP? Is it dependent of season length? For a same crop, which factors influence GPP: Season length? Mean climate parameters?... CarboEurope-IP Meeting – 8-11 October 2007

4 Objectives 3. Infer the part of autotrophic respiration (Ra) from NPP and GPP (Ra = GPP – NPP) Compare the proportion of autotrophic respiration for the different crops What is the relationship between Ra and the above ground vegetation area (VAI)? CarboEurope-IP Meeting – 8-11 October 2007
