Syngenta Cereals: Fungicides

2 Disease Management – Importance of Flag Leaf

3 Critical Wheat Growth Stages TREAT Best Tilt ® fungicide treatment timing Best Quilt ® fungicide treatment timing

4 Best Use Guidelines ● Feekes 2-5 (tillering – pseudo-stem strongly erected) -Apply 2 oz/A Tilt for early season disease suppression and to protect the plant. -Can be applied with herbicide. ● Feekes 9 (ligule of flag leaf is just visible) -Apply 14 oz/A Quilt for protection against foliar diseases on the flag leaf and residual protection on the glume.

5 Tilt: Key Product Attributes ● Tilt fungicide provides superior control of major foliar fungal diseases, such as Septoria, tan spot and powdery mildew, while helping crops achieve maximum yield potential and improve crop quality. -The active ingredient of Tilt, propiconazole, is systemic. -The site of action is inhibiting hyphal growth by stopping production of the cell membranes.

6 Tilt: Disease Control Timing ● For early management of Septoria, tan spot and powdery mildew: -Use 2 oz/A for early applications at the first signs of disease or when conditions favor disease development and before the plant exceeds the 5-leaf stage. -Tank mix with a grass product like Axial ® XL herbicide for one-pass early season disease and weed control. ● Use 4 oz/A for control of Septoria, tan spot and powdery mildew at flag leaf under low disease pressure.

7 Tilt: Tank Mix Flexibility ● Tilt can be mixed with insecticides and herbicides. ● Tilt needs no surfactants when used alone or when tank mixing with herbicides. ● Tilt can be applied with liquid fertilizers.

8 Tilt: Early Help to Maximize Yield and Quality

9 Tilt: Benefits of Application ● Protect your wheat early to maximize yield and quality. ● Can be tank mixed with insecticides, fungicides or herbicides. ● Systemic action fights the disease from inside the leaf. ● Rainfast in 1 hour. ● Excellent crop safety in wheat and barley.

10 Quilt: Key Product Attributes ● Quilt fungicide combines the Power of Two™ proven brands, delivering complete disease protection and enhanced Plant Performance™ to allow your crop to reach its full yield potential. -Composed of two modes of action, Quilt is a premix of top-selling strobilurin and triazole chemistries and offers preventive and curative activity against tough diseases in wheat and barley.

11 Quilt: Disease Control Timing ● Broad-spectrum control of wheat and barley diseases, including rusts, tan spot, Septoria leaf blight and powdery mildew. -Apply 14 oz/A of Quilt from flag leaf emergence to Feekes 10.5.
