2. Background EC has a set of rules about how to (i) value activity and (ii) allocate a farm type. These operate on a 10 year cycle. Any notable changes are usually once every 10 years Updates can be applied in interim years. Last period covered was 2000 to 2009. Current period is 2010 to 2019. Eurostat use FSS to gather data on agriculture across the EC.
