5 Little Voices for Healthy Choices Learning Outcomes The Parents will be able to express what they learn.  Describe how early childhood development is positively impacted by healthy nutrition.  Demonstrate how physical, sensory, language, cognitive and socio-emotional development of every day moments.  Demonstrate how interactive nutrition experiences for expectant families, breastfeeding women, families with infants and toddlers, and family values and their beliefs.  They will also learn to support and practices traditional songs, music, and story-telling.  Describe strategies for establishing relationship with community nutrition services, educational resources and promote lifelong health.

6 Little Voices for Healthy Choices Learner Characteristics: Cultural Expressions, Attitudes, & Beliefs Cultural expression is the new way to show different kinds of ethics in our world. Attitudes is how one feels against each others and the difference we share with one another. Different opinions. Beliefs is what one thinks and the faith that one has in one another. The trust that is giving in the parent in what we believe in and their cultural expression. My audience for this training would be the parents, caregivers, and infants & toddlers. 7 Little Voices for Healthy Choices Learning Context :  The Family is the one that decides – what, when, and how their children eat.  Parents will be provided with different areas of instructional information in regards to nutrition. They will receive this training in a classroom setting and also during their monthly parent meetings because there they will be able to work and hold discussion in groups.

12 Little Voices for Healthy Choices Blueprint cont.  The white bar is how many moms breast –feed their newborns. Every Qtr. it changes and the percentage. The 3qtr. it was a high percentage.  The light green bar is the infants either breast-feed or take regular baby bottle.  The dark green bar is of the toddler that drink from a regular baby bottle and up to 4 years or older. It’s possible that at 6 year old still drinks from a bottle

14 Little Voices for Healthy Choices Summary The children who have learned to be comfortably dependent can become not only comfortable with having people depend on them. They can lean, or stand and be lean comfortable with having people depend on them. They can lean, or stand and be lean upon, because they know what a good feeling it can be to feel needed.  Families have learned about their roles and responsibilities to enable them to reinforce healthy and nutritional patterns. It is the role of the informed adults to offer a variety of healthy foods and to create a calm and nurturing environment. A positive feeding relationship supports good nutrition, food acceptance, developmental eating skills, self- regulation of intake, and socialization.
