2 Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007 ‘Adult at Risk of Harm’ Adults at risk are adults aged 16 and over who: Are unable to safeguard their own well-being, property rights or other interests Are at risk of harm, and Because they are affected by disability, mental disorder, illness or physical or mental infirmity are more vulnerable to being harmed than adults not so affected. All 3 elements must apply

8 Seen Something? Say Something “If you though a child was at risk of harm, you’d do something about it. It should be no different for an adult. If your instinct tells you something isn’t right, don’t keep it to yourself. With one anonymous phone call to your local council, the situation you’re worried about will be checked out and support given, if needed. It may be nothing, but there’s no harm in being sure.”
