3 Daily Record Our Heroes Awards Overview Our Heroes is an event that recognises the everyday people from our communities, those who work tirelessly to have a positive impact on the lives of others. Now in its 12 th year it brings together all that is great about the people of Scotland and engages with our readers. Our Heroes consists of a 4 month media campaign in the Daily Record, Scotland’s largest newspaper, followed by a gala awards dinner for 500+ guests at the Thistle Hotel, Glasgow. Readers of the Daily Record will nominate candidates and our judging panel will select a short-list of 3 heroes from each category who will all be invited to attend the gala awards celebration event.

Giving a platform to all Scots – no matter their politics – but also staying true to its own principles. The Daily Record has a readership of 649,000 13% of Daily Record Readers agreed that they were more likely to buy products from companies who sponsor events – 27% more likely than the average Scottish adult. 193,000 of our readers stated that they like to buy from companies who give back to society Dailyrecord.co.uk has an audience of 6.3million unique visitors – (December 2014, Omniture)

6 Editorial Campaign Media schedule Event Launch – February 2015 Event features to drive nominations and highlight nomination stories – February – April 2015 Post-event coverage (4-8 pages) May 2015 Campaign results In 2014 the campaign reached 46% of the adult population in Scotland Comprising 40 pages of editorial coverage in the Daily Record and 24 adverts between the Daily record and the Metro (Scotland) The gross number of times the campaign was seen was 21,490,000 Each reader would have seen this coverage an average of 10 times Our Heroes will be promoted through a 4 month media campaign in the Daily Record including 35-45 pages of editorial between February 2015-May 2015
