6 Brian Farrington Ltd Procurement & Supply Chain Specialists Examples of Metrics Supplier Management METRICUNAWARETRADITIONALCOMPETENTWORLD CLASS 11. Performance Measure in Place We don’t know how our suppliers are performing. The suppliers are punished when they do something wrong, especially bad quality and delivery. Key areas of performance are measured and regularly reported. Some issues are dealt with but may be crisis driven. Performance default is immediately highlighted and corrective action is agreed and the results monitored. 12. Supplier Development Practices No programme is in place. By default we may select a supplier and seek to correct an area of performance which is causing us a problem. We do select suppliers who are capable of giving us an improved service. There will be a short term focus but the supplier will fund the improvements. There is an active programme and we have financial, technical & commercial resources which can be made available to targeted suppliers. 13. Partnership Actions. Heard of them but there are no plans to introduce partnership deals in our business. A limited number of our suppliers are very close to us and we see them as long term suppliers. Nothing is formalised. Where there are long term relationships we can demonstrate business benefits. These suppliers are given close attention and purchasing staff take the lead. We do have some partnerships and these are totally open relationships. Both parties think positively and we intend to do a lot more in this regard.
