28 Arik Air is a Nigerian airline operating a domestic, regional and international flight network. It operates mainly from two hubs at Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. The Airline operates over 100 daily flights carrying over 8000 passengers daily from over 25 destinations. 29 The primary target market population for Abuja, Port Harcourt and Lagos is assumed to be about thirty million (30,000,000) people. We are basing our projection on 1% of this population. i.e. 1% of 30,000,000people = 300,000people This has taken into consideration people below 22 years as well as aged citizens above 80 years. We do not also include the population of people from other South Western states like Oyo, Edo and Ekiti. For the first year, we have decided to set an annual target population of 10% of the 300,000 people. i.e. 10% of 300,000 people = 30,000 people If the project gets 30,000 guests in a 12 months, then it gets 2,500 guests per month i.e. 30,000 guests divided by 12 months = 2,500 guests Therefore, the average no. of expected guests per month = 2,500.
