MEET THE MONK The monk was a member of rebellious Ignores rules Controls his own life Hunts hares & Rides horses he will not follow the rules because they are against what he loves to do the monk says: "He yaf nought of that text a pulled hen"(Norton, p.85) and when he says, "Of priking and of hunting for the hare was al his lust, for no cost wolde he spare"(191-192). PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION His robe had garnished grey fur on the sleeve and a gold pin with a love knot at the end of the hook His robe fashioned at the chin Bald head shone like looking glass Fat and not pale His horse was brown and in fine condition

THE ACTOR Tony shalhoub Was born on october9,1953 played Adrian monk in the TV series monk Adrian monk was a renowned homicide detective for the san Francisco police department He suffers from obsessive –compulsive disorder and multiple phobias These intensified after the murder of his wife Trudy which resulted in his suspension from the department based character on his own personal life

WHY I CHOSE THIS ACTOR? I chose this actor because the monk in Canterbury tales and the Monk in the TV series share the same name. Neither of the two perform religious beliefs like a normal monk was supposed to.
