5.  D is for democracy. Democracy is what Rudi and all the other soliders are fighting for.

6.  E is for enemy. The enemy is the Vietnamese soliders that Rudi and the other soliders are fighting against.

7.  F is for Free Fire Zone. While in a free fire zone Rudi gets trapped in a trap door.

8.  G is for Gillespie. Gillespie is one of Rudi’s squad members.

9.  H is for hospital. Rudi ends up in a hospital after his leg injury.

10.  I is for Ivan. Ivan is one of Rudi’s best friends from Boston.

11.  J is for Jupp. Lt. Jupp is a good friends with Rudi, but unfortunately gets killed in combat.

12.  K is for knowledge. Rudi’s knowledge of his surroundings helps keep him alive while in combat.

16.  O is for orders. These are commands given to Rudi that he must follow.

17.  P is for private. Private is Rudi’s rank in the military.

18.  Q is for quiet. Rudi stays quiet in the warzone to stay alive.

19.  R is for Rudi. Rudi is the main character of the book fighting in the Vietnam war.

20.  S is for Squid. Squid is the nickname given to one of Rudi’s squad members because he has a squid shaped head.

21.  T is for trapdoor. This is what Rudi gets his leg stuck in during the ambush.

22.  U is for U.S. Sea Rations. This is what Rudi and all of the other soliders eat while in war.

23.  V is for Vietnam. Vietnam is the country Rudi is fighting in.

24.  W is for war. Rudi is currently a solider in the Vietnam war.

25.  X is for extreme surprise. Rudi is extremely surprised when a huge number of Vietnamese ambush them out of nowhere.

26.  Y is for pray. Rudi prayed a lot to stay alive.

27.  Z is for war zone Rudi’s main warzone is the woods.
