A mission statement can motivate and direct employees and give new hires an idea of how your company works.

What is a mission statement? A mission statement describes: –What is the company’s business? –What is the company’s objectives? –What is the company’s approach to reach those objectives?

What is a mission statement? It isn't important how you define yourself, but it is of utmost importance that you do define yourself. Once you determine and define what you and your operations are, you can determine the ways in which you are the same or different from the competition — your strengths and weaknesses as they relate to your vision.

Research indicates that increased stakeholder involvement in the mission process will lead to a wider sense of ownership of the statement, resulting in increased employee commitment and satisfaction.
