Meeting at the Streamline December 1947- France calls 35 of most important people in stock car racing together to discuss creating a sanctioning organization NASCAR was born

An American Pass time Moonshine was the root Even before Bill France, racing was popular: France just proposed the idea of an overseeing organization A bunch of dirt poor guys running from the law, instigated what is now a money making, power house sport Combination of moonshine/Bill France Sr helped launch NASCAR into the world
