He is consiedered as a father of helicopter 1895 – presented his first concept of helicopter in Bratislava He was improving his invention for years till first real flight of his invention in 1901 Many other inventors used his concept and created their own Ján Bahýľ

Finally he could not get enough resources to build his invention in bigger scale Louis Brequet and Paul Cornu had found investor and now are official inventors of helicopter Ján Bahýľ

He was born on 28th November, 1870 in Neštich and died on 2nd of January, 1941 in Neštich 1907 - he moved to USA 1913 - he designed and constructed the first parachute on the principle of umbrella Štefan Banič

1914 – he jumped from the 15-floors high building in Washington and showed ´ representatives of the Patent Office, that his parachute is working. His parachutes were used by American pilots in first World War. Štefan Banič

Physicist, mathematician and inventor Jozef Maximilian Petzval is considered as the founder of modern optics. He was born in 1807 in Spišská Belá and died on 17th September, 1891 in Vienna In 1840 he invented a photographic lens. Jozef Maximilián Petzval
