2 Why Every First Day of the Week? “When You Come Together as a Church” ✓ This assembly was intended for worship 1Cor 11:20-22, 33-34 ✓ Singing, praying and teaching took place in these assemblies 1Cor 14:26 ✓ At this time they gave of their means 1Cor 16:1-2 ✓ At this same assembly they partook of the Lord’s Supper 1Cor 11:20

Acts 20:7 ✓ Paul waited seven days for this assembly ✓ They met to “break bread” and for Paul to preach to them ✓ This passage clearly coincides with the context of 1Cor 11-16 ✓ A clear pattern of authority is established “On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul began talking to them, intending to leave the next day, and he prolonged his message until midnight. ” (Acts 20:7)
