Mercury is a planet of extreme temperatures. Mercury is a bare and rocky planet with deep craters. Mercury has no moons.

Venus is 67 million miles (108 million kilometers) from the Sun. Venus has no moons. Venus is almost the same size as Earth.

Earth is 93 million miles and 149 million kilometers from the Sun. As far as we know, it is the only planet with air we can breathe. From space Earth looks like a ball covered with white clouds.

Mars has two moons. Mars is 141 million miles and 227 million kilometers from the Sun. Mars is about half the size of Earth.

Jupiter is known for it’s 16 moons. If Jupiter were hollow, more than 1,000 Earth’s can fit inside of it. A year on Jupiter is 12 Earth-days long.

Saturn has at least 18 moons. Saturn is 887 million miles and 1 billion 416 million kilometers from the Sun. Like Jupiter, Saturn is a giant ball of gas.

Uranus has 5 large moons and 10 small moons. A year on Uranus is 84 Earth-days long. One day is 17 Earth- years long.

Neptune has high winds and many storms. Neptune has about 8 moons. The planet is covered with clouds.

Pluto has one moon. Pluto is the smallest planet. Pluto is a dwarf planet.
