Affirmative: Subject+ is/are/am+ Verb Gerund *+ (C) * Gerund= Infinitive + ing Examples: play playing work working Exceptions: ● Verbs ending in “-e” liveliving ● One- syllable verbs ending in consonant+vowel+consonant stopstopping

Negative: Subject+ is/are/am+not*+ Verb Gerund +(C) * is+not= isn´t are+not= aren´t are+not= aren´t ◊ REMEMBER: the main verb is always in Gerund, that is, ending in “-ing”

Interrogative: is/are/am+Subject+Verb Gerund+ (C)? To make questions in Present Continuous, just put the form of “BE” before the Subject. SHORT ANSWERS ▪ Affirmative: Yes + Subject Pronoun+ is/are/am ▪ Negative: ▪ Negative: No+ Subject Pronoun+ is/are/am+not No+ Subject Pronoun+ is/are/am+not -What is Jim doing? Is he practising windsurf? -No, he isn´t. -Is he practising skateboard? -Yes, he is.
