1 Due Date: December 12, 2014 WORLD WAR ONE PROJECT

2 GUIDELINES Choose one of the following projects to complete for our World War One Unit. Please consider your academic and creative strengths to make your choice. All written work should be in MLA format, typed, double-spaced, 12 point font, and a citation page.

3 OPTION 1: WWI PROPAGANDA PAINTINGS OR POSTER Draw, paint, or create digital images of 2 WWI propaganda posters that illustrate wartime propaganda. These could include; recruitment of soldiers, financing the war through war bonds, or the wars effect on women, children, African American, or other minority. The poster should utilize tools of propaganda such as emotional appeal, half-truths, catchy slogans, symbols, or humor. The posters should be 8.5x11 or 18x24. Each poster should include a half-page explanation of how your poster illustrates the views and attitudes of people and countries during WWI.

4 OPTION 2: POWER POINT PRESENTATION WWI presentation must include all of the following topics: The causes for WWI The Invasion of Belgium The U.S Entering WWI Battles of the WWI The effects of WWI on the world and the U.S. Presentation must be at least 15 slides in length and include pictures, diagrams, pie charts, maps, etc.. Each slide must have a title and a minimum of 15 words. Please make sure your slides are historically accurate with specific details and have appropriate pictures.

5 OPTION 3: BIOGRAPHY OF WOMEN OR AFRICAN AMERICAN DURING WWI Write a 4 pages biography of women or African Americans during WWI. Please be sure to include specific people and their individual stories to illustrate how WWI affected them as people and as citizens in the U.S. Please include 3 or more small pictures, charts, or maps to help you illustrate your story.

6 OPTION 4: PRESIDENTIAL BIOGRAPHY Write a 4 page biography of President Woodrow Wilson. Biography should focus on his role in WWI and after WWI. Please be sure to illustrate the effect he had on the U.S. going to war and how the U.S. helped end the war. Include at least 3 pictures, maps, or charts that will help you tell your story.

7 OPTION 5: TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCES PRESENTATION OR PAPER. Discuss and Explain in a presentation or paper the technological advancements before and during WWI that changed and molded modern warfare as we know it. You must include at least 5 pictures to help you illustrate your explanation. Papers should be at least 4 pages in length and presentations should be at least 15 slides in length. Each slide must have a title and a minimum of 15 words. Please make sure your slides are historically accurate with specific details and have appropriate pictures.
