2. Summary
The story of “Lose Now, Pay Later” is about two girls, Deb and Trinja, that discover a new store that sells treats called Swoodies. The Swoodie store is in the mall and it’s completely empty and the treats are free. Soon after, the Swoodies become a huge hit. The only problem with them is that they make you gain a ton of weight. Just when everybody gets fat, a new machine gets discovered. This machine is called THE SLIMMER. If you go in and pay, than you instantly lose weight. After you lose 10 pounds, then you get a blue dot on your wrist. Everybody is loving these two discoveries, except for Deb’s little brother. He has a theory that the swoodies and THE SLIMMER are run by aliens that harvest the fat from THE SLIMMERS to use as fuel.
