2. Our Olympian Katie Taylor is a very famous Irish boxer. She won a gold medal in the London Olympics 2012. It was a great success. She is very well know all around Ireland.

3. All about Katie Where were you born? I was born in Bray, Wicklow. When were you born? I was born on 2 nd July 1986. Does anyone else in your family box? My dad coaches me & he used to be a senior champion. My mum is a referee. My two brothers used to box and my sister Sarah was never into the sport. Do you speak Gaelic? I do. I learnt it in secondary school and I would love to do an interview in Gaelic after a fight.

4. Katie talks about boxing What age did you start boxing? I started boxing at 9 years of age. Would you rather boxing over soccer? No I love soccer but my heart lies on boxing. Do you have a boxing nickname? Yes I do, my nickname is The Bray Bomber. Do you like your dad training you? Yes he is great and very motivating.

I love strawberries dipped in chocolate. What’s your favourite dress? My favourite dress is my Stella McCartney dress. What are your hobbies? Just to relax I love going to the cinema. I go all the time.

9. Katie’s Biggest Honour What was the biggest honour of your life apart from the Olympics ? The biggest honour of my life was meeting Barack Obama at the White House.
