3. Maggie is my Soft-coated Wheaten Terrier. She is 12 months old, and is very playful. Maggie loves greeting people and playing in the snow. We got her on June 26, 2009 from a breeder in Lancaster, PA through a website called greenfieldpuppies.com. 4. Soft-coated Wheaten Terriers were the working dog of the working class. They were originally bred to be farm dogs, used for herding and hunting small vermin. It’s the fourth Terrier of Irish descent.

6. Wheatens are medium sized with long Terrier legs. When Wheatens are born, they have a rusty brown coat. It’s only when they outgrow their puppy stage, that it turns blonde. As this happens, they develop a soft, luscious, silky coat. As adults, they can have a long tuft of fur that covers their eyes, called a fau. They can also have a long beard under their chin.
