Let’s Get Started!  Planners out  Equipment out (Pens, Pencils, Ruler etc.)  Bags under desks  Ready to Learn!

Unit 1: Unit 1: Fitness for Sport and Exercise (Exam) Learning Aims  Know about the components of fitness and the principles of training  Explore different fitness training methods  Investigate fitness testing to determine fitness levels.

Success Criteria  Know about the physical components of fitness (Pass)  Apply the components of physical fitness to relevant sporting examples. (Merit)

Competition Lesson  This lesson will be a series of team competitions to re-cap everything we have covered about components of fitness.  Your team needs a name!

Round 1: Mind Map  In your groups create a mind map with as many components of fitness you can remember!  There are 11 in total.  Whole group must raise hands when done.

Round 2: Skill/Physical  In a different colour pen put the components of fitness into either a physical or skill-related category.  There are 11 in total.  Whole group must raise hands when done.

Round 3: Video  Watch the following videos and as a group decide the 3 most important components of fitness for that performer.  Weight Lifter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=366FtzOMRtE  Gymnast https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Le6fNx5IWRI  Sprinter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nbjhpcZ9_g
