Quebec City itinerary – May 1 – 5, 2015 Friday, May 1 10:20 AM – All students to meet at Calgary International Airport to register with chaperones (transportation to the airport is not included). 12:20 PM - Take off aboard West Jet flight #160 6:20 PM - Arrive at Montreal - meet your tour leader meet tour buses. 7:30 PM - Dinner at l'Académie, a French restaurant on trendy Rue St-Denis. 9:00 PM - Hip Hop dance workshop with Montreal’s R&B stars (bring running shoes and bendy clothes)! 11:00 PM - Check in to the hotel for a well-deserved night's rest.

Saturday, May 2 8:00 AM - Following your hotel check-out, breakfast at La Petite Marche, a quaint French restaurant in the Plateau Mont-Royal. 9:30 AM - Bike ride along the Canal Lachine (bike and helmet rental are included). 11:30 AM - Time for lunch and to explore in Old Montreal. (Lunch is at individual expense.) 1:00 PM - Visit Notre-Dame Basilica where the stained glass art will tell you the story of Old Montreal. 2:30 PM - Visit the Biodome, an Ecozoological living museum, followed by a trip to the top of the world's tallest inclined tower. 4:00 PM - All aboard! Next stop: Quebec City! 7:00 PM - Érablière du Cap, an authentic Cabane à Sucre Québécoise. Partake in a 17th century meal, dancing, a taffy pull, make your own maple butter and more. 9:30 PM - Check in to the hotel for a well-deserved night's rest.

Sunday, May 3 8:30 AM - Petit-déjeuner soleil at Cora. 10:30 AM - Attend mass in French at L'Eglise Notre-Dame des Victoires 11:30 AM - Poutine lunch - what's that? Find out at Chez Ashton on Grande Allée (at individual expense). 1:00 PM - Meet Le Marquis de Montcalm and General Wolfe during the 1759 Battle of the Plains of Abraham at la Maison de la Découverte. 3:00 PM - Visit Le Temps des Québécois through the exhibits at the Musée de la Civilisation. 4:30 PM – Fact Finding mission in Old Quebec. 6:00 PM - Arrive at the Village Huron for a guided visit and dinner followed by traditional dances and legends. 9:00 PM - Return to the hotel for a well-deserved night's rest.

Monday, May 4 8:00 AM - Petit-déjeuner at hotel with tour leader. 9:30 AM - Discover the copper trade in Quebec at Albert Gilles Copper Museum. 11:00 AM - Observe mosaics and replica of Michelangelo’s Pieta at Ste-Anne Shrine. 12:00 PM - Have lunch on the Beaupre Coast (at individual expense). 1:30 PM - Montmorency Falls – walk across suspended bridge. 3:00 PM – Take in view from top of city’s tallest building: l’Observatoire de la Capitale. 4:30 PM - Return to hotel to relax before dinner. 6:00 PM – Dinner in Old Quebec at le Côtes à Côtes Resto Grill. 7:30 PM – French-Canadian legends theatre workshop 10:00 PM – Return to hotel.

Tuesday, May 5 8:00 AM - Enjoy breakfast at Le Parlementaire, a restaurant in the Assemblée Nationale, Quebec's parliament building! 9:00 AM - Visit l’Assemblée Nationale, Quebec’s provincial legislature. 10:00 AM - Guided tour of the Citadelle de Québec, crown jewel of the city’s fortification and a military museum. 11:30 AM - Time for lunch and to explore in Old Quebec (individual expense). 1:00 PM - Next stop... Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. 4:15 PM - Hugs and handshakes as you bid farewell to your tour leader and head back home. 6:15 PM - Take off aboard West Jet flight #217. 8:48 PM - Scheduled time of arrival at Calgary International Airport.

WHAT TO BRING? What to bring ~ Grade 9 Québec Trip Comfortable clothing and casual wear for 5 days Sweaters/hoodies 8 - 10 pairs of socks Spare footwear (just in case it’s raining or snow) pyjamas /underwear / long johns/ tights Slippers or running shoes for Hotel WARM spring jacket and rain proof clothing Toque (provided) Toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, floss, comb, deodorant) Passport OR birth certificate (government issue) and student I.D. card * chaperones will be collecting these items once arrived in Montréal Medications (if needed) Book, magazine or a travel game for the plane ride. Extra money for spending ($60.00 to $100.00) for various lunches to be at individual expense. Cell phone (parent’s discretion) Please provide chaperone with the cell phone number. We will be walking and spending a fair amount of time outdoors so please dress up appropriately. Verify Environment Canada for Québec weather prior to packing. Please leave valuables at home. Electronic devices are brought at the students’ own risk. ONE person per room can bring a hairdryer

Student Code of Conduct Students are to follow the direction of the chaperones. The same rules apply from school Rooms (evening) Rules for the Motorcoach Stay in your seats No GUM or small candy like M&Ms No cans Keep the motorcoach clean Record Keeping All forms will be kept with each chaperone Code of Conduct Medical Consent

LUGGAGE – NEW ** OPTION #1 – Checked luggage $25 charge for checked luggage each direction. If checking luggage, parents must provide $50 to the chaperone on the morning of May 1 at the airport. Chaperones will pay at the Westjet check-in counter. OPTION # 2 – Carry-on bag No charge for carry-on luggage. Must be within these dimensions: Carry-on baggage: 53 cm x 23 cm x 38 cm (21 in. x 9 in. x 15 in.) Personal article: 41 cm x 15 cm x 33 cm (16 in. x 6 in. x 13 in.)
