2 Hurricanes are severe tropical storms that form in the southern Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea, Gulf of Mexico, and in the eastern Pacific Ocean.

3 1.Hurricane Iris was the ninth named tropical cyclone and fifth hurricane of an active 1995 Atlantic hurricane season. Iris was one of four storms to form

4 A hurricane is a huge storm. It can be 600 miles across and have speeds up to 75 to 200mph

5 A hurricane watch is something where someone tells you on the news that there will be a hurricane with so many minutes or something like that.

6 As the wind must be blowing in the same direction and at the same speed to force air upward from the ocean surface.

7 Hurricanes Hurricanes only form over really warm ocean water of 80f or warmer.

8 Coriolis Force is needed to create the spin in the hurricane and it becomes to weak near the equator, so hurricanes can never form here.
